The story takes place in the Pal Street, and the very building where our apartment is located plays a significant role in the novel. The building is where the protagonist, Boka, and his friends, spend their time playing and causing mischief. The novel became so popular that it was made into a Hollywood movie in 1969. The building still stands today and is a popular tourist destination for those interested in the history of Budapest and the novel.
