The second bedroom boasts two single beds that can be converted into a double bed if needed. The room also features a wardrobe and original cinema chairs to complete its cozy atmosphere. The bathroom features a shower and a hairdryer is available for your use. Enjoy a comfortable and convenient stay in our beautiful apartment. Pál utca (= Paul Street) is one of the most famous streets of Budapest thanks to the novel/film “The Paul Street Boys” (Molnár 1906). As a matter of fact, house number 6 played a leading role in the plot. Key attractions, like the big market hall, the liberty bridge or Gellert spa are within walking distance. The close by public transport station, called Corvin Negyed, allows you to get quickly to any place in the city center, as well as the airport. Welcome our apartment in Budapest's XIII district, a perfect location to explore the city's top attractions. With numerous tram and bus lines leaving from the central Corvin square, which is only a 2-minute walk away, and one of the main metro lines also departing from there, getting around the city is easy and convenient. To make the most of your visit, we recommend purchasing a ticket for public transport. The 24-hour, 72-hour, or 1-week tickets are affordable and make commuting in the city center hassle-free. If you're arriving from the airport, the bus 100E stops at Kalvin square, which is only a 7-8 minute walk from the apartment. There are plenty of must-visit sights nearby, such as the Great Market Hall, Hungarian National Museum, and the famous Vaci street, all within walking distance. Take a stroll along the Danube promenade, visit the iconic Parliament building, or explore the stunning Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion, all easily accessible by public transport. After a day of exploring, come back to the comfort of your apartment and unwind in the heart of the city. About the building of the apartment: "The Boys of Paul Street" is a Hungarian novel written by Ferenc Molnár, which portrays the life of children in Budapest during World War I. The story takes place in the Pal Street, and the very building where our apartment is located plays a significant role in the novel. The building is where the protagonist, Boka, and his friends, spend their time playing and causing mischief. The novel became so popular that it was made into a Hollywood movie in 1969. The building still stands today and is a popular tourist destination for those interested in the history of Budapest and the novel.

About host

Gunnar Kämpgen

Hey there, greetings, salutations, hola, and hallo! I hail from Dortmund, Germany, and I have been obsessed with foreign languages and jet-setting all my life. I have bounced around studying, working, and exploring in countries like the USA, Honduras, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland.

Since more than a decade, I call the lively city of Berlin my home sweet home, and although I'm knee-deep in the digital startup world, I am always for a quick weekend getaway to explore new European cities. My not-so-secret passions include communist architecture (yes, really) and the fabulous Eurovision Song Contest.

As your host, I'm stoked to welcome you to one of my top-notch properties, where I'll go above and beyond to make sure your stay is memorable.

In Budapest, the Pál Loft is nestled on a quiet street in the city center, the perfect home base for exploring. And if you're lucky enough to snag the Gardens Loft in Cape Town, my local co-host Mash is a legend with insider info and private tours.

And let's not forget about the Studio Apts Budapest, the latest addition to my portfolio! These industrial-chic studios are housed in a revamped factory building, and they're sure to tick all the boxes on your "cool accommodations" checklist.

So, what are you waiting for? Let's make some memories together! Welcome, bienvenue, bienvendio, welkom, and enjoy your stay!
